Although Obama promised during the campaign that lobbyists would not work in his White House, apparently lobbyists are being allowed to help in his transition.

Aides to President-elect Obama, who said lobbyists would not work in his White House, said Tuesday that lobbyists could serve in his transition so long as their activities do not involve areas of policy they have tried to influence in the past year.

While it would appear this doesn't technically mean he broke his promise, it seems to be stretching the spirit of the promise. It remains to be seen if this same criteria on lobbyists will be applied to his eventual administration--something that would be a violation of his promise.
